The FHS7/8-9X6PL is a 7/8-9 x 6" alloy steel flat head socket cap screw with black oxide finish for mild corrosion resistance and reduced light reflection. The 82° conical head sits flush with the mating surface when installed in a matching countersink, making it ideal for assemblies where surface protrusion must be eliminated. Heat treated to ASTM A574 — 170,000 PSI minimum tensile strength for sizes through 1/2", 180,000 PSI for 5/8" and larger. Drive: 3/4" hex key. Meets ASME B18.3.

Countersink angle: This is an inch-series flat head socket cap screw and requires an 82° countersink in the mating part. Coarse thread is standard for general industrial use, offering faster assembly and better performance in blind holes. Note that metric flat head socket cap screws (DIN 7991) use a 90° countersink — do not interchange inch and metric countersink tooling.
