Economy Coupling Nuts

Economy coupling nuts are a lighter, lower-cost version of the standard coupling nut for high-volume, light-duty rod joining where full structural strength is not required. They join two pieces of threaded rod end to end at a lower price point per piece.

For overhead, structural, or load-rated runs, choose regular coupling nuts and match the grade to your rod; reserve economy nuts for light, non-critical work.

FAQ

What is an economy coupling nut?

An economy coupling nut is a lighter, lower-cost hex coupling nut for high-volume, light-duty joining of threaded rod. It trades some strength for price and is not intended for structural or overhead load-rated runs.

Are economy coupling nuts strong enough for hanging rod?

For light, non-critical work, yes. For structural or overhead load-rated hanging, use regular coupling nuts and match the grade to the rod.
