Strut Post Bases
A strut post base anchors the end of a strut channel to a floor, wall, or ceiling so the strut can stand up as a post or column. Eugene Fastener & Supply stocks post bases for both single and double channel, in flush-mount, angled, and square-flange styles, with the bolt-hole patterns to fasten down with concrete anchors or lag bolts. Standard finish is electro-galvanized; stainless and hot-dip are available.
These post bases fit Unistrut and other standard 1-5/8" strut, so a competitor part number almost always has an EFS equivalent. To anchor them down, see our concrete anchors. Buy by the piece or the carton, with same-day shipping on orders placed before 2pm Pacific.

What Is a Strut Post Base?
A post base is a flanged fitting that bolts to the end of a length of strut and to the floor or wall, letting you stand the strut up as a vertical post or column. It transfers the load from the post into the structure and keeps the post square. Post bases are how you build free-standing strut frames, equipment stands, sign posts, machine guards, and racking legs.
Post Base Styles
| Style | Use When | EFS SKU |
|---|---|---|
| Single channel, square flange | Standing one strut as a post on a flat surface | STR4774 |
| Single channel, 5 x 5 flush | Low-profile flush mount for a single post | STR4767 |
| Single channel, angled | Mounting a post at an angle to the base surface | STR4773 |
| Double channel | Standing a heavier double-strut post or column | STR4766 |
| Double channel, flush mount | Low-profile double-channel base | STR4778 |
Anchoring a Post Base
Fasten the base to the surface with the right anchor for the material: wedge or screw anchors into concrete, lag screws into wood, or through-bolts into steel. Match the anchor diameter to the base hole size and the load. For concrete, see our concrete anchor selection. For a tall or loaded post, brace it with a diagonal brace so it does not rack.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a strut post base used for?
A post base bolts to the end of a strut channel and to the floor or wall so the strut can stand up as a vertical post. It anchors free-standing strut frames, equipment stands, sign and bollard posts, machine guards, and racking legs, transferring the load into the structure and keeping the post square.
What is the difference between a single and double channel post base?
A single channel base accepts one strut for a standard post. A double channel base accepts two struts side by side (or a welded double channel) for a heavier, stiffer column that carries more load and resists bending. Choose double channel for tall or heavily loaded posts.
How do I anchor a strut post base to concrete?
Use a concrete anchor sized to the base holes and the load, typically a wedge anchor or a concrete screw anchor. Drill the holes per the anchor instructions, set the anchors, and bolt the base down. For the anchor options see our concrete anchor category. Brace tall posts with a diagonal brace.
Do these post bases fit Unistrut?
Yes. Our post bases fit standard 1-5/8 inch strut and cross-reference to Unistrut and other brands. For example our angled 6-hole post base matches Unistrut P2072A. See the cross-reference table above.
